What is an Elder Day Care?

A place where elderly, dementia patients can come together socialize, address their need to connect with similar age people for love, friendships and sharing of their stories.  A place where they will have freedom, compassionate care, love, affection, medical attention, learning and importantly opportunity to contribute back to society.

Why
While we are working closely with elderly for last 3.5 years in Mumbai for Home Health Care we heard and felt need for day care centre. The need is specifically for Elderly staying alone or away from their kids. They lack socialization which impacts their emotional as well physical wellbeing. They lack empathetic ears, opportunity to contribute to society, opportunity to learn new things, friends to share their joys, stories, frustration in safe, trustworthy environment. This will also help family to focus their time on their career without any compromise

Love you Life - An event for Senior citizens

Love your Life and Lead a better life that is the message we want to give to our senior citizen community. Aaji Care is happy to announce our first event in series of event planned in near future around well-being of senior citizens. 

This event is organized on 13^th Dec 2015 Sunday at Mukteshwar Ashram, IIT Market, Powai, Mumbai. It will comprise three 30 min sessions by experts on below topics

• Meditation & mindfullness
• “Yoga” way of Life
• Medication and Drug management

We believe these session will help them lead better life. We are also going to give introduction about various elder care services provided by Aaji Care.

Care Companionship and 24 Hr Stay-in service in Mumbai

To make difference in someone's life you don't need to be brilliant, rich beautiful or perfect, you just have to care. Aaji Care has completed Two years doing this sincere effort to bring positive diffidence to families in the need of care through these wonderful trained Home Care Assistant.

On this occasion on second year anniversary, we have started a new service called "Care Companionship" in Mumbai where an educated staff (Graduates/MSW) will be spending 4-6 hrs with the senior citizens or patients who are mobile but they need some kind of assistance to do their day-to-day activities. For e.g., reading mails, newspaper, spiritual books, visiting doctors, bank & having friendly conversations on current affairs, general knowledge or any topic in their interest & they will also be supervising in checking their Blood Pressure, Sugar, Temperature. Helping them getting in touch with their children abroad through video call or phone calls. We can personalize this further based on individual need which is suitable to Companionship role.

We have started this services because of growing requirements of Care Companions for seniors who are living all alone or who are cut out from their social connect. Therefore, we have started this service of "Care Companionship" from 15th August' 2014.

Happy to announace completion of Empower to Care program

Aaji Care-at-Home Service, a social enterprise is happy to announce completion of its 3^rd batch of Home Care Assistant in collaboration with Vatsalya Trust located in Kanjurmarg.  This training was run under program called Empower to Care (E2C) and got completed on 2^nd April 2013. Aaji Care provides non-medical home care services for seniors, patients, and kids.

After good response from first two batch of Care Assistants to meet growing Family Care demand we just completed training of Care Assistants which mainly involves women along with few men from low income background. This training will enable company to provide excellent care and at the same time provide respect and dignity to this work force.

This one month training was headed by nursing professor Saroj Shinde (32 years of experience) and company Care Manager/psychotherapist Dr Ajay Pillai. We had number of guest lecturer which includes Dr. Shubhangi Datar from IPH Institute, Thane, Puneet Srivastav who is writer and start-up soldier and Mr Cecil from MBA foundation, Powai. We also had one volunteer L. Sneha Ravli from IIT Engineering college, Mumbai who was helping us to teach basic English to our Care Assistant.

As a gesture of social commitment to contribute and help, Aaji Care also has been training few members from MBA Foundation, Powai which works in the area of the disability by providing them day and life care facility across 4 centers in Mumbai.

Training concluded with certificate, uniform distribution by Trustee of Vatsalya trust Mr Saraf.
